The youngest participant in Khatron ke Khiladi, who is also affectionately known as the “powerhouse of energy”, has great news for all of you! Her upcoming film “Am I Next” will be screened at the India International Film Festival of Boston (IIFFB) next month!
The director of the film, Rahat Kazmi, shared this message: “This is a proud moment for the team! The film has a strong message and Anushka Sen did a brilliant job of portraying the protagonist. ”Commenting on the plot of the film, he says:“ It is the story of a rape victim who is underage fighting in court to have her pregnancy terminated. Anushka Sen, who played the role of the teenage girl, left no stone unturned to deliver a remarkable performance. “
Talking about the film, Rahat Kazmi adds: “The script projects the story of a girl who was abused at a young age, but who shows exemplary courage to fight for her dignity and stand up for many other victims like her. Since this was a complex character, my first choice was Anushka and I’m sure after you’ve seen the movie you’ll know why! Although she was emotionally moved after hearing the script, she later settled in perfectly with the character. “
“I didn’t mean to give him a negative mix. The story is based on the true incidents of an underage girl who fought for herself and won the case! Besides, the film also has an interesting court drama for commercial audiences. You can see lawyers manipulating and optimizing things in court, ”concluded the director.
The film was selected from nine other feature films to be shown at the IIFFB in September 2021. Written by Kritika Rampal (story) and Shalini Bhede (dialogues), the film features Swaroopa Ghosh (famous for Vicky Donor) as defense attorney, Mir Sarwar as judge, Tariq Khan as policeman, including some major Singapore theater artists.

Stay tuned for the IIFFB schedule and other updates on the film, which is being produced under the banner of Rahat Kazmi Films, Tariq Khan Productions, and Zeba Sajid Films in association with Pihu Arts.
