Shimmy is about a particularly tough day in the life of a young girl (played by Chahat Tewani) and her father (played by Pratik Gandhi) who can’t quite understand what worries them. The film also plays Bhamini Oza Gandhi in a central role. It was written and directed by Disha Noyonika Rindani, an emerging talent who previously co-wrote “A Death in the Gunj” and directed the award-winning short documentary “Bombay 70” based on Indian rapper Naezy. Shimmy is produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain, the power duo whose banner Sikhya Entertainment has spawned notable titles such as Pagglait, The Lunchbox, and Masaan, to name a few.
