This morning guest Andrew Neil moved viewers to tears after he himself surged after calling hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby “so nice”.
The seasoned journalist and broadcaster, 72, is a fixture on the show, which discusses the day’s topics.
However, on today’s broadcast (Wednesday June 9th) he got emotional and praised the presenting duo.
What happened to Andrew Neil this morning?
During the last two lockdowns, Andrew appeared on video link to debate news.
Today, however, he came back to the studio for the first time in months.
And while the trio discussed a variety of topics with Royal Editor Camilla Tominey, Andrew took the time to thank them both.
“Look, I wanted to come today to thank you,” he said.

“Oh thank you!” Holly replied, surprised, adding, “It’s been wonderful to have you here this year!”
Phil, also amazed, then asked, “What do you want to thank us for?”
Andrew said emotionally, “For being so nice, wonderful!”
Why did Andrew get emotional?
It was then Andrew who surged, which also made the presenting duo emotional.
However, Andrew did not reveal why he was getting so emotional or why he thanked Phil and Holly.
It’s not clear what happened off-camera, despite the fact that the presenter is launching his brand new news network, GB News, over the weekend.
Thank you, hope it goes well, thank you, you are soft sometimes!
He had previously described the start as “tense”.
“Andrew, that’s nice to say and good luck on Sunday!” Phillip finally said after a pause.
“Thank you, hope it goes well, thank you, you are sometimes soft!” Holly hooked up.

They speculated as to why he thanked the couple.
“Ah @thismorning what a gracious gentleman @afneil is,” wrote one.
“Moved me to tears this morning! Speak very sensibly, as always. I’m looking forward to @GBNEWS starting on Sunday and I wish Andrew the best of luck. #This morning.”
