Ashley Banjo teases project with couple

In the latest news from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Ashley Banjo teased future projects with the couple.

The Dancing On Ice star said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex helped him when he was going through a “dark time” after the Diversity Ofcom series.

The couple called Ashley after a Black Lives Matter Diversity routine performed on Britain’s Got Talent sparked nearly 30,000 Ofcom complaints.

Ashley went on to discuss his bond with the couple, joking that they are “now friends”.

He added, “We have a lot in common, things that we both relate to.”

The dancer also spoke about the moment Harry and Meghan made contact after the BGT backlash.

He said, “It was just one of the many conversations I had that got me through a really deep, like a dark time.”

What did Ashley say?

Last year, on her show, Ashley told Lorraine Kelly about the call he received from Meghan and Harry.

He explained, “Harry and Meghan called me. I was sitting outside in my garden and Harry and Meghan called me and we talked for about an hour.

“We discussed things and they just told me that they were there for me and that I could always rely on them.

“You were really great at it and shared a lot of knowledge with me.

“They opened my eyes to a lot of things I didn’t really know about, so I was really grateful to both of them.”

Meanwhile, Harry told this Evening standard: “We spoke to Ashley Banjo a few weeks ago, right after the British got talent situation.

“And that in itself, I’m sure even I will be controversial about it.

“But the reality is that he and his team of guys put in the most amazing performance.”
