Bosco Leslie Martis: From behind the choreography to behind the camera

For Bosco Leslie Martis, chasing dreams endlessly goes without saying – and the proof lies in the pudding. After starting his dance journey with Farah Khan and Jaaved Jafferi, Bosco took the leap of faith and began his independent practice with his partner-in-choreographer Caesar.

After her first music video ‘Oye Shava’ with singer Raageshwari, it was just a stage show gig with singer-sibling duo Shaan and Sagarika that turned things around for them. The ultimate combination of hard work and lucky guy paid off and before they knew it they choreographed greats like Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukherji, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abhraham, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and the list goes on …

Basically, Bosco has choreographed every single superstar in Lametta Town with over 500 songs and 110 films. Films like Mission Kashmir, Swades, Jab We Met, Munnabhai MBBS, Bunty Aur Babli, Bluffmaster, 3 Idiots, Love Aaj Kal, Salaam-e-Ishq, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara would have been incomplete without Bosco-Caesar. Today when you think of viral hook steps that made us dizzy with adrenaline, Bosco’s name is one of the first that comes to mind. In 17 years directing dance routines, Bosco has learned a thing or two – or millions – about filmmaking. After making the world dance to his tunes, Bosco is ready to become a filmmaker with his directorial debut “Rocket Gang”.

Commenting on his trip so far, Bosco Leslie Martis said, “I take it one day at a time. I discovered my passion for dance at a relatively young age and I owe it to this passion to spark my love for filmmaking. When I first came to Bollywood as a choreographer, I never dreamed of becoming a director. Over the years I’ve fallen in love with the art of filmmaking. So it was natural for me to become a director. Today my greatest dream comes true with Rocket Gang and I am very happy to be able to present it to the whole world! “

While his genre-defining film is due to hit theaters soon, Bosco’s dream of directing is becoming a reality. This is not just any other movie. Rocket Gang stays true to its roots and becomes a dance film – a day that only adds even more weight to the master choreographer’s attempt to create a horror comedy. Directed by Bosco Martis and supported by Zee Studios, Rocket Gang features Aditya Seal and Nikita Dutta in the lead roles as well as five talented children from around the country.
