Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson, who plays Jim McDonald, slammed ITV’s homage to the late Johnny Briggs.
On Monday evening (March 29), ITV aired Johnny Briggs: Coronation Street Legend as a tribute to the actor who died last month after a long illness.

The documentary was 30 minutes long and aired between the two episodes of ITV soap Corrie.

The special interviews with Johnny’s Corrie co-stars took viewers back in time and recalled some of his most famous storylines.
However, Charlie apparently wasn’t a fan of the program and shared his thoughts on Twitter.
Half a bloody hour and no mention of his film career, save for a half-hearted crap about carry-on films. Very disappointing.

He wrote: “Half a bloody hour and no mention of his film career other than a half-hearted crap about carry in movies. Very disappointing.”
Johnny Briggs played Mike Baldwin on Coronation Street from 1976 to 2006.
Over the years, Mike had a number of lovers. But one of his most famous storylines was between 1982 and 1983 when he had an affair with Deirdre Barlow.
Mike and Deirdre’s husband, Ken, became archenemies. In April 2006, however, Mike died in Ken’s arms.
Mike, who has Alzheimer’s disease, also developed pneumonia and fled the hospital. Back on the road, Ken found him outside the factory and tried to help. But Mike had a heart attack and died in his arms.
Before coming to Coronation Street, Johnny starred in the TV series No Hiding Places from 1962 to 1966.
He played Kerr in Freewheelers in 1969.
Johnny also played Tippy The Tipster in Bright’s Boffins from 1971 to 1972.

Johnny played Clifford Leyton in Crossroads: King Oaks from 1972 to 1974.
During his career, he also appeared in many films, including The Devil-Ship Pirates, Light Up The Sky, Some Girls Do, and Carry On Up the Khyber.
His last role as a television actor was in 2009, when Johnny played John Cotham in an episode of Doctors.
Coronation Street will air Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. with an hour-long episode on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on ITV.
