Corries Paula Lane can’t believe it as she joins the cast of Call The Midwife

Former Coronation Street star Paula Lane has joined the cast of Call the Midwife.

The Kylie Platt actress will appear in a guest role on the series later this month.

It will be her first TV role in five years since she left the Corrie cobblestone streets.

How did Paula Lane leave Corrie?

Actress Paula left Corrie in 2016 and received an extremely dramatic storyline in which Kylie was stabbed to death.

She died in emotionally devastating scenes on the cobblestones in the arms of husband David Platt.

And while Paula has toured stage shows since leaving, she has just landed her return to television on the BBC medical period drama.

What did Paula say about participating in the cast of Call The Midwife?

she said Soap out of the box Podcast: “When I was filming for Call the Midwife, there was a lot of separation anxiety.

“I remember feeling pretty strange. I should get upset about it. What’s happening?

“And of course there was a fear of leaving my family there.

“But I have to say I love television. I just love intimacy. “

Paula “hums” to be on TV again

However, she admitted that she “hummed” to finally be back on TV after five years.

Paula said, “I think the excitement that was around me when I was on set for the first time, obviously under slightly different circumstances, behind masks and whatever I wanted, my goodness.

You never lose that excitement and that is why I am at this job and why I am built for it.

“I remember being in the green room. I had just seen the Christmas episode which was magical with my mother on Christmas Day.

“And I was sitting with all of these amazing actresses like Linda Bassett and Jenny Agguter, I couldn’t believe it.

“You never lose that excitement and that’s why I’m in this job and why I’m built for it.

“When you have these low times and no work is on the horizon, everything will wash away once you get a job and are on the set.”
