Dancing On Ice star Jason Donovan has retired from today’s show after back pain.
The actor will not skate with his professional partner Alexandra Schauman on Sunday evening (February 14) after receiving instructions from a doctor.
Former neighbor star Jason said in a statement: “I’ve had back pain the past few days and the doctor’s orders are to take it easy and sit outside this week.

“I’m resting, I’ll be watching from home and cheering everyone and I’m looking forward to going back next week.”

It comes days after Emmerdale actor Joe-Warren Plant left the series after he and his partner Vanessa Bauer tested positive for coronavirus.
What did joe say
Joe said in a statement on Friday: “After testing positive for Covid, this now means the end of the competition for Vanessa and me.
“I loved every minute of being a part of Dancing On Ice.
“I’m disappointed because I feel like I have so much more to give and I’ve worked hard to perfect every performance.”
He added, “Thank you Vanessa for being a fantastic teacher and although it was cut, I really enjoyed the experience.
“Thank you to everyone on the crew who were brilliant, and especially to the other cast.”
Meanwhile, Vanessa added, “Joe-Warren has grown into such a talented skater every week.
“I’m so sad that we can’t show any more of the great routines that we planned.”
I look forward to coming back next week.
In this year’s series, four stars have dropped out of the show.
Together with Joe, Rufus Hound, Billie Faiers and Denise Van Outen had to leave the series due to injuries or COVID-19.
At the beginning of the series, professional skater Yebin Mok withdrew from the first show after a “freak accident” during training.
Bosses want to make sure the show works
After Joe-Warren left, the bosses reportedly wanted to make sure the show worked.
A source said The sun: “They were very strict with the protocols and the rules behind the scenes.

“Everyone is constantly being tested, so it’s just a matter of sticking to the rules and making it through to the last week.”
Additionally, the insider said, “Morale is high behind the scenes and everyone wants the show to work.”
Dancing On Ice continues tonight (February 14th) at 6pm on ITV.
