Denise Van Outen could return next year, Matt Evers suggests

Dancing On Ice star Denise Van Outen had to quit the show due to a shoulder injury.

However, her professional partner Matt Evers has hinted that she might return for the next series.

Matt admitted that he would “love” to see Denise do the program next year as she won’t be able to continue the series in 2021.

Speak with The sun, Matt said, “There have been a lot of comments online about ‘Denise and Matt 2022’, they have never really done that.

“At this point, we won’t watch each other until next week, but there is a lot of support for Denise to do the show again next year. I would love it.

“It’s because I get along with Denise so well that we just laughed so much.”

It comes after Denise announced that she will be leaving the competition.

Earlier this week, she said in an emotional message to Instagram: “I managed to skate my first dance with @themattevers on the live show through a gritted smile because the pain was unbearable.

“I tried as hard as I could to keep going because I love the show and the great team in front of and behind the cameras.”

She added, “At first we thought I could get back to the ice with peace of mind, but a recent MRI scan showed I had 3 fractures and a partial dislocation. OUCH!

“I’ll get out gracefully with my DOI bling noose.

“@Themattevers was the most amazing support and skate partner (a true friend).”

Meanwhile, Matt said in a statement, “It’s sad that the contest has to end now for Denise and I, but most importantly, it is important that she take the time to heal and recover.

“I loved our time together on the ice and I love the wonderful friendship we will always have.”

Dancing On Ice continues tomorrow evening at 6pm on ITV.
