Dermot and Alison blew up for laughing during a phobia call

This morning’s presenters Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond were criticized by viewers after laughing as a caller spoke about their unusual phobia today (Friday, February 12).

What happened to Dermot and Alison that morning?

What was Lulu’s unusual phobia?

Lulu explained that the phobia arose when she was involved in a traffic accident with her father and a terracotta pot.

Dermot and Alison smiled when Lulu told their story, but lost it when Nik and Eva Speakman gave their advice.

They told her to consider the terracotta pot as a victim of the crash as they did.

Then Dermot and Alison couldn’t go back.

Subsequently, viewers used social media to blow up the duo.

How did the audience react?

One viewer wrote: “#ThisMorning poor caller Lulu with Alison and Dermot laughing at their stressful phobia.

“The show is going down the drain.”

Another said: “Shame about @AlisonHammond and Dermot for laughing through phobias.

“It’s not funny.”

Finally, a third wrote: “I actually feel uncomfortable that Alison and Dermot are laughing and still grinning at people’s phobias.

“It must be embarrassing and probably nerve-wracking even calling and showing off your phobia.”
