Eamonn Holmes has announced that he will become a grandfather this morning.
On Tuesday, the moderator told his Twitter followers that he had some news to share and said he was “over the moon”.
He then shared the news on today’s edition of the daily show, saying that his eldest son, Declan, was expecting a baby with his wife, Jenny.

The moderator said, “Guys, I want to talk to you about something today.

“It’s been a tough year for so many people that there isn’t a lot of good news. I’ve had a very difficult week.
“It wasn’t a good time. I was in tears. I was in tears again because it affects these two people. “
Then a photo popped up showing Eamonn’s son Declan and his wife Jenny.
The moderator continued, “These people are called Declan and Jenny. Declan is my oldest boy, he is 32 years old and this is Jenny, his beloved wife.
I didn’t think I would be so happy, but I got very emotional.
“You just announced that I and Jenny’s mom and dad and Gabrielle, Declan’s mom, will all be grandparents!
“Which means I’m a grandpa!”
Ruth said: “Declan and Jenny, we are very happy for you. Lots of love.”
Eamonn admitted, “I didn’t think I would be that happy, but I got very emotional about it.”
It comes after Eamonn tweeted about his mysterious news yesterday.

He wrote: “Can you keep a secret to yourself I have something to tell you on Wednesday at 11 a.m. #This morning.
“I hope you will be happy for me because I am overjoyed.
“It even made me forget mine at the moment #Chronic pain – Yes, it’s that good. “
