Eamonn Holmes says he could become a grandfather “today”

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes has announced that he could become a grandfather for the first time today (July 19).

The 61-year-old presenter confirmed the exciting news during Monday’s ITV show.

Eamonn’s eldest son, Declan, is currently expecting his first child with his wife, Jenny.

What did Eamonn Holmes say that morning?

Eamonn made the comment during a section on coronavirus.

It came after a viewer contacted the show to discuss their concerns about not allowing people to hold their newborn baby.

The presenter immediately sympathized with Lily and gave her some advice.

He said, “You say how am I supposed to say no when people ask? Watch my lips, ‘NO’ Just keep practicing this over and over again.

“People are right to understand boundaries – as I speak, I could be a grandfather today!

“We are waiting for news now.”

Eamonn is currently hosting This Morning with his wife, Ruth Langsford.

The couple took over from regular presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield earlier this month.

They previously hosted the show every Friday before being replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Eamonn becomes a grandfather

Meanwhile, Eamonn first announced that his son Declan would be welcoming a baby in April.

At the time, he said, “It’s been a tough year for so many people, there isn’t much good news. I’ve had a very tough week.

“It wasn’t a good time. I burst into tears. I burst into tears again because it’s about these two people. “

The host continued, “These people are called Declan and Jenny. Declan is my oldest boy, he is 32 years old and this is Jenny, his beloved wife.

“You just announced that I and Jenny’s mom and dad and Gabrielle, Declan’s mom, we will all be grandparents!”

Following the announcement, Eamonn later admitted that he didn’t think he was ready to become a grandfather.

On Nolan Live, the host stated, “I never really thought I’d be ready for it, but when it came because it was so important to Declan and Jenny.

“You could see the joy for her. It really made me very emotional and I was very ready to be a grandpa. “

Eamonn shares three children with his ex-wife, Gabrielle Holmes, and he has a son, Ruth.
