EastEnders star Michael Greco is “emotionally” born prematurely as a baby

EastEnders legend Michael Greco is emotional after his baby son was born prematurely.

The Beppe Di Marco actor revealed the news on Instagram in an emotional post.

Next to a picture of his new son he wrote: “My boy. Gianluca Greco. Born July 1, 2021. Weighing 4.47 pounds. “

However, he also revealed he was emotional after his son was born with a birth defect that needed urgent medical attention.

Little Gianluca will spend six weeks in the hospital under medical care before he can go home to his parents.

Michael added, “The little man was born prematurely because previous scans failed to detect his rare birth defect called gastroschisis,” wrote Michael.

“The counselor suggested that it would be best for him to be born early so that he would receive the care and attention he needed.

“He was born at the University College of London Hospital.

“Your staff were extremely professional and the mother and baby could not have been in better hands.

“Dad was a little emotional, to say the least!

“The baby has already had its first surgery to replace its bowels where it belongs and is being cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital around the world, where it will stay in intensive care for a while and most likely up to 6 weeks .

“My heart is already full and this is by far the best day of my life. I love you Gianluca more than I can ever imagine. “

EastEnders friends congratulate Michael Greco on the birth of his young son

Michael – who played Beppe Di Marco in the BBC soap from 1998 to 2002 – was congratulated by his friends in the comments.

EastEnders co-star Dean Gaffney said, “My husband, proud to have been with you on this trip … keep smiling, congratulations, congratulations.”

Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson added, “Awww, this is the best news!
