Hair and makeup artist Nilam Kenya, who worked with Priyanka Chopra, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sara Ali Khan, believes the entertainment industry has been a soft target for exacerbating depression and anxiety problems. Nilam says she noticed the entertainment industry was attacked over the problem of depression. “People in the entertainment industry are familiar faces, so it’s easier to target them, but depression and anxiety exist in all areas. I feel like they (celebrities) are just more stressed because they are familiar faces, ”she said.
Often times, Nilam believes that people forget to take care of their mental health and fail to realize that it requires proper attention. “For good mental health, it’s important to pay attention to what you eat, what you think, what kind of people you are around, your lifestyle, everything counts,” she says, adding that she feels personal her friends turn when she’s feeling depressed or prefer to take a break from her routine or watch a movie. Dancing her heart and exercising soothes Nilam on days when she feels bad. “I love to train, it helps me a lot. Dancing and catching up with my close people also calms me, ”she adds.
