Recently, a clubhouse discussion went viral with Liberal participants expressing their desire to have “hate sex” with Sanghis. The national award-winning director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and young women have now spoken out to condemn such hypocrisy.
Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri said, “Very often I see on social media, especially in a clubhouse, that a lot of these people who call themselves liberals and wake up sit down and keep attacking people who don’t agree with their ideologies. In this video you can see that there was a controversy a few days ago because they were talking about hate sex against Sanghi people. Man or woman doesn’t care, ‘hate sex’, once again everyone is wrong, they talked about sex on paper that was so racist and communal and so bigoted. It was important that someone raised their voice and that is why this video came out in which women stand up for their dignity and for their safety and their rights. “

He adds, “What happened is that these clubhouse rooms attract 10,000, 8,000, 15,000 people and there are a lot of young people sitting there. Very, very young people, impressionable ages, and these people are being influenced and think this is the right way to speak publicly. If all of these social media influencers and celebrities are going to talk like that, then we are definitely cultivating and nurturing violence and hatred against women, men and people who disagree. From my point of view, this is a crime against equality, a crime against humanity. “
In terms of work, the filmmaker-writer finished filming The Kashmir Files in April 2019 following the critical acclaim of Agnihotri’s latest release, “The Tashkent Files”. The filmmaker believes The Kashmir Files is a small step in informing the world, especially his compatriots, of the plight of the Kashmiri Hindus. With Anupam Kher in a central role, “The Kashmir Files” should appear in 2021.
