Former EastEnders star Glen Wallace teases a new role

Coronation Street newbie Glen Wallace has spiced up his new role in the soap.

The former EastEnders actor will play a mysterious man who arrives on the cobblestones to reunite with a former flame.

And he’s now revealed that he’s playing Carla Connor’s ex-lover.

He told that Sunday world: “There’s a little backstory between my character and Carla. So if you know her storylines, it’ll be interesting.”

Next week, Carla attends a meeting with a new client and is shocked to discover it’s a blast from the past – Lucas.

She met him when she was living in Devon. And it quickly becomes clear that they have a common history.

Carla calls # 1 to offer her support to alcoholic ex Peter after he again said he wanted to die of liver failure.

But when he makes it clear that he doesn’t want her around, she makes her way to lunch with Lucas.

At lunch, Lucas reveals that he has booked a hotel for the weekend and that he wants her to join him.

Is Carla tempted by her uncomplicated new flame?

Glen also announced that he has been filming Corrie for six weeks, which means Lucas will be here for a while.

EastEnders star Glen Wallace joins Coronation Street

The actor also spoke about his time at EastEnders.

He played DS Cameron Bryant in the story of Lucy Beale.

“My first episode was with Adam Woodyatt and it was like watching a master class,” he said.

Glen played the officer who first told Ian his daughter was dead.

He added, “They asked if I could do it without a trial so they could get his reaction for the first time. I said yes because it was my first day and that scene was the “Doof Doof” moment at the end.

“Well, I’ve got the Goof Goofs on EastEnders and yesterday I was sitting in The Rovers ‘without’ a beer.”
