Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice has ruled out a romance with 2020 partner Ranvir Singh.
Gio and Good Morning Britain star Ranvir caused a stir when judges and spectators commented on their obvious chemistry.
Strictly pro Gio, however, has spoken exclusively to Entertainment Daily and has now shown that he only sees himself as an actor.
And should the audience and judges believe that there is a romance behind the scenes, it means that he did his job “perfectly”.
What did Strictly Star Giovanni say about Ranvir romance rumors?
Gio said the 2020 series was “quite a journey” with Ranvir.
“The way it developed and improved was remarkable. It was a nice end of 2020 for me, ”he said sadly.

He also revealed that they are “absolutely” still in contact – and that he hopes they will meet for a dance once the lockdown is over.
“She fell in love with dancing. She said she wanted to keep dancing but we didn’t get a chance – there is nowhere to go with lockdown.
“Maybe after all of this we can keep dancing,” he said.
What did Giovani think of the Ranvir Strictly Romance rumors?
“Every year there is a romantic rumor with a different partner. I mean, even if you don’t have a partner, there’s a rumor going on.

“The thing is, when you dance with another person, you get very close, but dancing is synonymous with acting. You have to deliver. Every dance is a different story.
“If the people at home or the judges think you have a good connection, it means my job, what I do is perfect. We deliver exactly what the dances require.
“Remember, we are actors,” he affirmed.
So is there any chance of love between Giovanni and Ranvir?
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem.
“No, no, no, no, no,” he said to ED !.
“I’m single again, there is absolutely no way. We are very, very good friends, ”he confirmed.
Have the romance rumors ever stopped Gio from stepping down?
Again I’m single, absolutely there is no way. We are very, very good friends.
“Oh god no. I mean, Strictly is the greatest thing on TV. Every time you get into a rhumba or an Argentine tango with your partner, they try to make up a story.
“But that, too, is what dance requires. So if they think there’s romance, it means we’re doing it absolutely right.
“We only focus on the steps and the demands of the dance and the performance side.”
The lack of studio audience was a good thing
Gio also revealed that the changes to last year’s show were actually a good thing in his eyes.
He said it wasn’t weird without a studio audience, just “different”.
“You have to see two different sides of the coin.
“When you have all the guests in the studio, some celebs can usually get distracted with their family members in the audience.
“But without an audience, they concentrate more on the performance. It wasn’t that bad just because I’m a very strict teacher and I wanted Ranvir to be fully focused. “
Another thing that viewers focused on was the Italian stallion Gio’s abs when he went down in a slightly daring outfit.
Does he ever check Twitter to see what social media are saying about him?
“I did it last year because a lot of people wrote to me saying you were trending on Twitter, and most importantly, I didn’t really know what that meant.
“Most of the time it was after the topless performance,” he laughed.
Gio added, “I don’t check because it’s always 50% in terms of people like your performance and people don’t like your performance.
“I always tell my partner too. It can’t be good for everyone. Some people like you, some don’t. “
Complaints about the professional’s Priscilla routine
One group dance that got a lot of response – most of it good, some bad – was the pro’s Priscilla Queen of the Desert routine.
“I loved that. I absolutely loved that. People really loved it,” said Gio.
“And obviously the complaints, the people who complained about it, are very stupid people because we’re in 2021 in the sense that we’re trying to bring new things to the show.
“When I do something like Priscilla, which is a huge movie and music theater show, I’m really very proud of what we’ve done.
“You see people like Johannes [Radebe] so dance and it’s just remarkable. Me and Gorka [Marquez], we tried it. We didn’t look like Johannes, but we tried. “
Gio obviously has the flaw in dressing as anyone on their TikTok will know.
The dancer and his pal Kai Widdrington recently dressed up as Elsa and Anna from Frozen.
And, Gio revealed that he came to his local Sainsbury’s in costume just before our exclusive chat!
“I went to Sainsbury’s as Anna just before that conversation,” he said.
“It’s something you do just to get up and laugh. The other buyers just laughed, ”he revealed.
“Elsa and Ana in Shoreditch, we went to Sainsbury’s and Costa,” he chuckled.
“People didn’t recognize me at Sainsbury. I stayed like three minutes. I ran in, got what I needed, and left quickly. “
Learn to dance virtually with Gio
With the country still bogged down, Gio has made it his business to lift the spirits of Strictly fans through virtual dance classes.
He has 1,000 people signing up for each class and recently taught them a Charleston set with the music that got him to his very first 40 years.
Gio, who was working with ex-girlfriend Georgia May-Foote at the time, said the experience was “amazing”.
“It was absolutely fantastic. It was my first year on the show – and of course I thought I’d only be on the show for a couple of weeks because I was the new kid.
“Then I danced with Georgia and we went straight to the final. This Charleston, I’m a ballroom and a Latin American dancer, so Charleston wasn’t my forte and we got the 40.
“As a performer, it was very rewarding. The first time is always amazing. “
So did Gio keep in touch with his previous partners?
He still talks to Michelle Visage all the time, showing that he can’t wait to see Debbie McGee again.
He might wait to see Laura Whitmore, however – because he’s not very good with babies.
“I love Debbie, of course we are in contact. When the lockdown is complete, I can’t wait to meet them all again.
“I want to see Michelle again, all these people I haven’t seen in a year. I can’t wait to see them all again, ”he said.
However, Gio added to Laura, who is expecting her first baby, “I’m not very good with babies, especially when they are children. I could meet the baby when she’s older. “
What’s next for Gio?
Next, Gio hopes to find out if his place on the 2021 show is safe.
“Hopefully I’ll be back at Strictly,” he told us.
“We will know when you will call us at the end of March.”
Will Anton return, thinks Gio, or should he take a seat on the jury instead?
“I think he knows what’s best for him and the BBC knows what’s best for the show,” said Gio.
“He’s been on the show from the start, 18 years old or so, they know exactly what to do and if it’s going to be like him being a judge then it will happen.
“He did a fantastic job as a judge last year and he still does a great job as a dancer. In any case, we definitely want to keep Anton on the show. “
