Harjinder Singh was hired for the Randeep Hooda Starrer web series “Inspector Avinash”. The crime thriller show is directed by Neerraj Pathak. Harjinder says he accidentally met director Neeraj Pathak, who was writing the script for the show at the time, two years ago. “When I met him (Neeraj Pathak) he said that I had a role for you on my mind, the scripting process was going on at the time. When the script was finished, the casting people called me. I did the audition and by God’s grace he liked it and got the part. It’s a premium project with Randeep Hooda. Debut with a big project in OTT certainly makes a difference, ”he adds.
Harjinder, who enjoys playing cricket and listening to Sufi songs and ghazals in his spare time, believes the Over the Top (OTT) platform has proven to be a boon to both audiences and the entertainment industry.

“The OTT boom is because of the lockdown because people were sitting at home and couldn’t go to the cinemas because they were closed. Now everyone has a chance at OTT. If someone plays a small role, that’s relevant too. Small films and web series have gained recognition. The whole dynamic of the entertainment industry has changed, ”he adds. Harjinder shares that he previously acted in a film “I am Banni” in which he played the role of a friend. He says he’s always had a passion for acting and has tried his luck in the industry for some time. “I didn’t get the right opportunity. In 2015 I was offered a film. We were shooting in Bangkok and almost 60 percent of the shooting was done, but for some reason the film was stopped. I tried, but nothing big happened. After trying a few little things, I ended up here, ”he adds.
