Line Of Duty fans got a shock on tonight’s episode (Sunday March 28) when Jimmy Savile appeared on screen.
The former BBC DJ and TV presenter was accused of hundreds of cases of sexual abuse after his death.
But is this the first time Line Of Duty viewers have seen Savile on the show?
Why was Jimmy Savile on duty?
In the second episode, Steve Arnott, Ted Hastings and Chloe Bishop watched recordings with the murdered journalist Gail Vella.
They saw her report on the case of Chief Superintendent Patrick Fairbank who was part of a pedophile ring.

Has Jimmy Savile ever been on duty?
The photo of Savile, Roach and Fairbank was shown for the first time in series three.
Roach and Fairbank molested boys at the Sands View Boys Home.
The inclusion of a real-life character in a plot – and especially someone as maligned as Savile – has been criticized.
The BBC then issued a statement.
“Line of Duty is an established fictional drama series that takes place in a recognizable and authentic world.
“A short picture illuminated the real context of the fictional story …
“… That a fictional police officer suppressed allegations of the sexual exploitation of children by a fictional local politician.
“If viewers have had the chance to watch the episode for themselves, they will see that the BBC acted responsibly and sensitively towards the victims and survivors of Savile.
“[The] NAPAC was consulted and was aware of its inclusion. A warning is displayed before the episode, followed by an action line. “
