The series originally aired in 2017 and consisted of 10 episodes.

The Swedish version of the show, titled Innan vi dör, was filmed in Stockholm, Sweden.
The idea was developed and written by the Swedish screenwriter Niklas Rockström.
What is the plot?
The plot of the Swedish version follows the police officer Hanna, whose colleague and lover Sven disappears.
Hanna takes over SMS contact with an infiltrator whom Sven has taken into a criminal organization with the nickname “Inez”.

The situation becomes even more complicated when it turns out that Hanna’s estranged son Christian is involved.
The British version follows the same storyline, but with a predominantly British cast.

How does the UK version compare to the Swedish version of Before We Die?
Actress Lesley Sharp, who is portraying Hannah Laing on the UK series, watched the Swedish version to prepare.
She says, “Usually you are sent scripts and you choose to read a mark on the page, but I was sent an abridged version of the original Swedish series and asked to watch it.
“The suggestion was that this was a TV show and what do you think of that? Would you like to be in our version? ‘
“It was a breeze. I couldn’t stop looking at the Swedish version. It was fantastic.”
When asked how the original Swedish version compares to the British version, Lesley replied, “You are instantly in a world of noir when you watch shows like The Bridge or The Killing.
“I think the goal of the show is that it doesn’t look or sound like a UK police drama.
“European shows aren’t afraid to examine philosophical questions on behalf of their characters, improve images, or let moments play out.
“I think while there will still be those ‘who did what’ elements in our version, hopefully the audience will dig into the psychology of these characters, invest in them, and want them to find determination and forgiveness.”
Before we die on Channel 4, starts Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 9 p.m. All six episodes will be available on All 4 after the first episode.
