Paddy McGuinness is set to wow the nation with a spectacular New Year’s Eve tonight (Thursday December 31st). But will his wife watch from home?
Starting at 9 p.m., The Big New Year’s In promises a star-studded live extravaganza with celebrity guests and music.
Paddy, 47, will also invite viewers to take part in a quiz that looks back on the past extraordinary 12 months.
How did the lovable villain who became a family man meet his wife Christine?
When did Paddy McGuinness make his TV debut?
Lancashire-born Paddy made his television debut in the mid-1990s as a contestant on a number of dating shows, including Davina McCall’s God’s Gift.
But it wasn’t until he met old school friend Peter Kay that he became a star.

First in That Peter Kay Thing and then in the classic Channel 4 sitcom Phoenix Nights, the two worked closely together.
Both starred in the spin-off series Max And Paddys Road To Nowhere.
Are Paddy and Peter still friends?
The two were best friends at school and remain friends to this day.
Their friendship was in full swing when the notoriously audience-shy Peter took to Twitter to warn fans that a Channel 5 documentary wasn’t an official biography.
Paddy snapped back with a funny banter and replied, “Never mind. When did you start speaking in third person? “
Who is Paddy’s wife?
Paddy married former Miss Liverpool, Christine Martin in 2011.
The couple had dated three years before tying the knot at Thornton Manor on the Wirral.
It wasn’t all easy sailing, and earlier this year Christine, 32, said Lockdown “saved” her marriage.
For the first time in our lives, we are both in the same boat.
Before the pandemic, she says, the two were like “ships passing by at night”, often rowing over childcare or other domestic problems.
she said The mirror: “We are both in the same boat for the first time in our lives, we are both completely the same, we are both parents who are currently staying at home.
“And that’s it. Nobody goes anywhere.”
How many children do Paddy and Christine have?
The couple have three children – twins Penelope and Leo, both seven, and Felicity, four.
In 2017, Christine revealed that the twins were autistic.

She later revealed that Felicity had also shown symptoms of the condition.
