The fourth series of The Hit List kicks off tonight (October 2nd) on BBC One – but how do you apply for a spot on the show?

Music fans battle it out to win £ 10,000 on The Hit List, hosted by the Rochelle and Marvin Humes couple.

So how can you have a chance of winning the jackpot?

What happens on the BBC music quiz show?

Music lovers around the world take the opportunity to test their knowledge for the chance of a big win.

And you don’t get much more than £ 10,000 when it comes to quiz show prizes.

The hit list is a game show in which two participants try to name as many hits and artists as possible.

But in one final twist, the £ 10,000 jackpot price starts to drop after five seconds of each title played.

Do you know your Lady Gaga from the Libertines or your Kylie from Kool and the Gang?

Keep your eyes peeled for the BBC Take Part homepage here for application details.

Currently you can apply for Mastermind, Pointless, DIY SOS, and Bargain Hunt, among other BBC favorites.

However, the applications for the fourth season of The Hit List – which can now be seen on screen – were closed as early as the spring.

A fifth series is likely and applications are expected to open as soon as the current series ends.
