Charles was on the program in September 2001 and answered the last question correctly.

They claimed that Lecturer Tecwen Whittock would cough if Charles read a correct answer. They reported their results to the show’s bosses, who opened an investigation.

After a court battle, both Charles and his wife Diana and Tecwen received suspended sentences. A judge also ordered her to pay thousands of fines and law enforcement costs.

However, they retain their innocence.
