What will happen in series 17?
Series 17 of Grey’s Anatomy examines the COVID-19 pandemic. Yes, the Gray Sloan Memorial is being hit hard by the coronavirus.
In the first double bill, the first COVID patients will be admitted to the hospital.
While a fire character, Bailey is left with some heartbreaking decisions.
In the US, Grey’s is many episodes ahead of the UK.

While we don’t want to give too much away, we can show that the central character Meredith Gray is hospitalized with suspected COVID-19.
Who is coming back
Grey’s fans will be pleased to know that some favorite characters will return this series.
This includes the heartbreaker Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey.
Other characters for a comeback include George O’Malley (TR Knight), Lexie Gray (Chyler Leigh) and Mark Sloan (Eric Dane).
Is this the last series of Grey’s Anatomy?
The Shonda Rhimes drama has been running for over 15 years.
But there’s no official word that the medical show is on its way out.
However, the show’s lead actor, Ellen Pompeo, has pointed to her decline.
Before the series started in America, she said that this could be the last series.
Meanwhile, she said on Dax Shepard, Armchair Expert’s podcast, that she hopes the show doesn’t get past its peak.
She explained, “Of course I think it’s definitely a goal to get out sooner rather than later, to have done what we did at that point, if the show is still up. I’m not trying to stay on the show forever. No way.”
While showrunner Krista Vernoff has neither confirmed nor denied, this will be the show’s final series.
When speaking to Hollywood ReporterShe said, “I’m planning a season and a final that can be either a season finale or a series finale.”
Who is Meredith Gray?
Meredith Gray is the main character in Grey’s Anatomy. She is the daughter of a famous surgeon, Ellis Gray, after whom the hospital she works is named after.
Her mother Ellis, however, was cruel and considered Meredith practically worthless.
Meredith grows up in her shadow and insists that she has to prove herself as a doctor.
The show presents her as a personable but deeply flawed character who can easily transition from high performance to self-destructive.
How many awards has Grey’s Anatomy received?
Grey’s Anatomy has been nominated for a seemingly endless list of awards over the years.
One of the most outstanding is Ellen Pompeo, who received the 2007 Screen Actors Guild Award for Ensemble Outstanding Achievement in a Drama Series.
And the series won a Golden Globe for best television series – drama in the same year.

Series 17 of Grey’s Anatomy starts on Wednesday April 7th at 9 p.m. on Sky Witness.
