The Bay continues with an ever-growing number of suspicious-looking suspects, including the victim’s brother-in-law, Mark Bradwell – but do you recognize him as Sandy in the Shetland Islands?

The character is played by actor Steven Robertson.

Who is Steven Robertson?

Steven Robertson is a film, television, and stage actor who has been on our screens since 2004.

That year he portrayed Michael Connelly, a young man with cerebral palsy, in Inside I’m Dancing.

Steven starred in the 2008 adaptations of Tess of the D’Ubervilles, Hustle, Shameless and Ashes to Ashes.

He played Dominic Rook on the BBC Three comedy-drama series Being Human.

He has also had roles on numerous television shows including Luther, Ripper Street, The Bletchley Circle and Doctor Who.

Steven portrayed Robert Oswald in Harlots 2017 but is best known for his role in the Shetland Islands.

Is the Mark actor in The Bay also in the Shetland Islands?

Steven portrays Mark Bradwell on ITV’s The Bay.

Mark is Bill’s son who wants to prove himself to his father.

We were told, “Mark is overshadowed by his brother-in-law and Bill doesn’t trust himself to run the family business. He is painfully aware of his mistakes, as others see it.”

When his father retires, Mark is desperate to do something – but things are not going smoothly.

Mark is a prime suspect in his murder because of his dislike of his late brother-in-law.

Is Steven Robertson in Shetland?

Steven plays Detective Sandy Wilson in the BBC One adaptation of Ann Cleeves’ Shetland.

Sandy’s local knowledge of the Shetland Islands is critical to the team in solving their cases.

In the first series, Sandy’s paternal grandmother, Mima Wilson, is shot dead with a shotgun on her farm in Bressay.

Sandy, who is a PC at the time, finds her body.

In the second series, we see Sandy working towards becoming a Detective Constable.

In the most recent series, Sandy is suspended after his negligent policing resulted in a suspect being killed in a prison cell.

The actor joined the cast in 2013 and will appear on the upcoming series later that year.

The popular series is filmed near the place where Steven was born and raised.

When are the Shetland Islands coming back?

Shetland will return to the BBC this year, actor Douglas Henshall has confirmed.

Douglas, who plays DI Jimmy Perez, told fans of the show that there would be a sixth and seventh series of the BBC drama.

He tweeted last year, “For anyone asking about the next Shetland series. The plan is for us to start filming next February [2021] and shoot two series in a row, everything is fine. So keep your fingers crossed. “

Douglas teased fans by saying, “The scripts are good, I know that.”

His followers shared their happiness, with one saying they were “super excited” and another saying they “couldn’t wait.”

Fans were hoping for a new series in 2020, but due to coronavirus restrictions, filming could not take place as usual.

He is currently 44 years old.

Where does he come from?

Steven is actually from Shetland Island.

The BBC series is filmed near the place where Steven was born and raised.

Steven was born in Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland.

He grew up with his two sisters in the small village of Vidlin.

Steven suffered from severe dyslexia as a child before focusing on an acting career.

At the age of 21, he left Shetland to study theater at Fife College, Kirkcaldy, and honed his craft at the Guildhall School of Music and Theater in London.

Is steven married?

Steven is married to Charlotte Allam.

Steven and Charlotte met at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

They currently live in Hertfordshire with their daughter.
