Four more shots please! Not only has it emerged as the most popular show of 2020 for Amazon Prime, but it has received rave reviews as a trailblazer. Showrunner Rangita Pritish Nandy received praise for breaking the glass ceiling and setting a precedent for creating a series in which modern women take their own shots.
The show’s third season, which received an international Emmy 2020 nomination for Best Comedy Series category, recently hit the ground. Nandy says she feels “alive” when she returns to a set after a brief hiatus due to the Covid-19 ban.
“There is this absolutely wonderful feeling of warmth and shared history and success that we all enjoy, and release the year we all had just being on set – exchanging ideas, discussing characters, celebrating the achievements of the past year even arguing about costumes and whether or not you eat healthy on set – it just feels like coming home. We’ve actually grown into our own little sisterhood, men too, and it’s a wonderful feeling going to work every day, ”she explains.

As the production houses hit the ground beneath their feet and filming resumes, it is imperative that the project teams and units comply with all Covid-19 guidelines. Regarding the shooting in the midst of the new normal, she says, “Our protocols are based on government-mandated standards and Amazon’s comprehensive list of SOPs. We test extensively, mask for safety reasons, only use private travel modes, don’t share food and liquids, and live in a gun bladder to keep our crew and ourselves as safe as possible. Meanwhile, we are closely monitoring the changing pandemic around us to take new and additional precautionary measures that could be implemented. “
The shooting of Four More Shots Please! is currently underway in Mumbai and will continue through May. After that, the team will shoot in another Indian city and then fly to an overseas location.
