Jake Wood stunned Beat The Chasers fans by revealing a huge bushy beard in the episode last night.
He returned to television yesterday (May 29) after switching from his role as EastEnders earlier this year.
But while many viewers loved Jake’s new, hairier look, others were deeply shocked by the dramatic change in his appearance.

Jake played like the other celebrities to raise money for charity. His chosen charity was Alzheimer Research UK.
While Jake was playing a tough game trying to win a £ 70,000 jackpot, his bid fell apart when he was beaten by a question towards the end of his game.
Fan can’t get enough of Jake Wood and his beard
Despite the disappointing climax of his game, many of those who watched at home were more preoccupied with his facial lint.
One social media user wrote on Twitter: “Jake Wood’s beard is very satisfying to look at. #BeatTheChasers. ”
You can tell he loves not being in EastEnders.
Another intrigued observer added, “Look at Jake Wood’s beard!”
And a third exclaimed: “Max Branning with a beard! You can tell that he loves to be away from EastEnders. “
Not all fans were impressed
However, not everyone was happy with the dramatic change in Jake’s grooming habits.
And it seems like his fluffier looks may have put even some of his most ardent admirers off him a little!
“Right, my weird Max Branning crush really got thrown out the window with that beard on Jake Wood on Beat The Chasers,” someone laughed.

Another disappointed tweeted: “Oh, I don’t like Jake Wood with a beard at all #BeatTheChasers.”
Another person pondered, “Max from EastEnders… what about that beard? Damn it, #beatthechasers. “
Hair today, gone … actually a few days ago
Although Jake’s beard caused a stir on social media last night, his followers have known about his furry face for some time.
But it seems that growth isn’t staying here. In fact, Jake’s beard was gone by the time it was widely recognized.
The 48-year-old actor told Instagram followers earlier this week that his chin was cut off again.
“Beard is no more,” he captioned a picture of him that looked very hairless.
