Emmerdale star Jonny McPherson has opened up about the close connection he shares with screen daughter Mimi Slinger.
Jonny, 39, worked alongside the young actress for three years as Dr. Liam Cavanagh worked in ITV soap.
Jonny performed on Lorraine today (June 15th) and told the host that he felt like Mimi’s “false father”.

What did Emmerdale star Jonny McPherson say?
Jonny appeared on the show to talk about his upcoming wedding story.
He opened up his relationship with Mimi and said, “You play the role of a father, so you develop parental feelings.
“As for careers and mentoring, the kids on the show, a lot of them don’t go to drama school, they’re thrown in the deep end, so taking care of them as best as possible is important to the process.
I feel very protective of her
“She’s a wonderful, wonderful girl, I feel very protective of her.”
Meanwhile, Mimi, 18, has previously opened up her relationship with the actor.
she said metro: “I learned the most from Jonny McPherson – he’s not just a great actor and it makes a scene with him so easy.
“He gives me great professional and personal advice and we always giggle. He is great!”

Dr. Liam prepares for Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) wedding.
However, his ex-fiancé Bernice recently returned to the village in hopes of winning him back.
In this week’s episodes, Leyla worries that her wedding day is bewitched.
And to make matters worse, she is horrified to find Bernice in a wedding dress on her special day.

Regarding the plot, Jonny said of Lorraine, “Bernice arrived at the worst possible moment for Liam. Liam looked forward to bringing the family together.
“He suddenly lost his first wife and was very much in love with her.
“Then he married a pedophile, which is not ideal. Then he ended up with Bernice, who fled to Australia and pretty much abandoned him on the eve of his wedding. “
He added, “The fact that she just showed up when he was about to take the relationship across the line is deeply frustrating for the man.”
