Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard lead tributes as fellow GMB quits

Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard paid tribute to a Good Morning Britain colleague as he left the show today (14 January).

The couple said goodbye to floor manager Tim after his long career on the ITV programme.

In the final moments of the show, Kate and Ben continued to mention the team member.

Ben, 47, said: “Just a quick goodbye to our floor manager Tim who is leaving the show today, he has been with us for 40 years.

“We will miss you Tim.”

Kate, 53, added: “Let’s look at Tim, he’s been with us for 140 years – and Ranvir [Singh] knows you very well.”

The camera turned to Tim as he waved to viewers at home.

Kate and Ben weren’t the only ones praising Tim that day.

After the show, Davina McCall also took to social media to share her well wishes.

The Masked Singer star said: “Oh my god is Tim leaving?? Top class floor manager 40 years!!! Been on TV longer than me!!

“@GMB please give him a cuddle from me.”

In addition, Dr. Nighat Arif from This Morning Tim their support.

“Oh really!? Tim is brilliant at @thismorning too…he put my mind at ease from day one,” added the TV doctor.

“Really nice floor manager and absolutely lovely.”

Meanwhile, Kate has been slammed by viewers for her behavior on tonight’s show.

Kate upsets GMB viewers

According to some, Kate has interrupted and “persuaded” co-host Ben on several occasions.

Many viewers took issue with the star during her interview with MP Damian Hinds.

Taking to Twitter at the time, one complained: “Ben interrupted a few times too. Wasn’t a good interview.”

A second tweeted: “Kate Garraway zip-it. Stop talking about Ben Shephard.”

However, a third wrote: “She asks the tough questions. We don’t want fluffy. Keep going Kate!”

It came shortly after Kate was accused of “supporting Boris Johnson” during Thursday’s show (January 13).
