Kate Garraway found that her husband Derek Draper’s legs are “like sticks” after losing weight due to his coronavirus battle.
Derek has been in the hospital for a year after contracting COVID-19, and although he is now free of the virus, it has ravaged his body.
Good Morning UK hostess Kate said he ran out of muscles after losing eight stones.

Kate has not been able to visit Derek since Christmas because of the lockdown.
However, she communicated with him through an iPad.
She added, “Things have gone down a bit since January this year, but how much that has to do with the restrictions of not being able to visit is unclear.”
His legs are like sticks, he no longer has any muscles.
Kate said it felt like we were moving forward for Christmas, but now it feels like we slipped back.
Meanwhile, Kate’s ITV documentary Finding Derek will air Tuesday.

In footage from the document, Kate, mother of two, is in Facetime with Derek.
He says to her: “Kate, there is no way out. There is no way out. I’ve got to a point where I’m just thinking [bleep] it. Straight [bleep] it.”
Kate then replies, “How about dying?”
Emotionally, Derek says, “Yes … I don’t know how to deal with it, I don’t know how to deal with it.”
In a recent trailer for the show, Kate emotionally discusses her husband’s battle for her husband’s health.
She says, “Derek is the sickest person the medical team has treated this year.

“Will he be able to come back or will he be alive but no longer the person he was?”
Derek has suffered kidney failure and damage to the liver, heart and pancreas.
