Katie Piper and Jane Moore clash in Covid debate

There was a clash of the Titans at Loose Women today (Oct.25) as Katie Piper and Jane Moore argued over another Covid lockdown.

The moderators talked about Austria’s possible step to ban only the unvaccinated.

Katie is vehemently against the move, saying it would create a “two class” society, but Jane argues that this would cause those who remain unvaccinated to get their shots.

Loose Women Today: What Happened During the Debate?

Katie pointed out that there were still many people who couldn’t get the vaccine for medical reasons.

She said, “I don’t believe in discriminating against people who haven’t been vaccinated for any reason.

“I think it would lead to more division and more isolation for a part of society that is already isolated from Covid and the pandemic.”

Restrictions targeting those who couldn’t be stung she believed were unfair and would further isolate those in need of protection.

However, Jane reiterated her position, saying the restrictions should only affect those who might get the sting but declined.

She argued, “I think people who are vaccinated would not be banned because that is obviously not their problem – they cannot physically have the vaccine so they cannot be discriminated against.

“We’re talking about anti-Vaxxers – the ones who might have the vaccine.

“I’m like you, I disagree, I don’t think we should discriminate between people, but we have to be more persuasive.

“Otherwise we just keep going back to the same problem. I don’t think any of us would want to go into lockdown again. “

How did the audience react?

Obviously, the debate continued to rage on Twitter and viewers were torn over the proposals.

One viewer said: “I agree that we must never end up in a two-tier society, the decision of whether or not to take the vaccine must never be taken away from the individual. People who have been vaccinated can still catch and spread the virus, so vaccination records are useless. “

A second added, “You can’t force people to have a vaccine. And then lock them up if they don’t take it. People died from double blows. “

Another viewer pointed out that herd immunity should protect those who remain unvaccinated.

They said, “People who can have the vaccine create herd immunity to protect those who are exempt. What people don’t care. Katie doesn’t understand the point of the conversation … #LooseWomen. “

A fourth viewer tweeted: “@LooseWomen no, because I forced the push. In the UK we have high vaccination rates, so why high infection rates when vaccine is the way to protect? And how do you lock the unjabbed police? More serious crimes need the police’s attention. “
