Kim Tate in Emmerdale wants custody of her grandchildren but has forgotten that she was a terrible mother.
A few weeks ago, Jamie, Kim’s son and father of Gabby’s unborn child, drove into a lake.
His body was never found and he was believed dead, but Kim believes he might still be alive.
Now Kim wants to be the one to take care of Gabby’s son, should something ever happen to Gabby.
That night in Emmerdale (Monday October 11th) Kim Tate Gabby proposed that a will be made that Kim would have custody of Gabby’s baby, who is her grandson, in case something should happen to her.

Gabby later overheard Kim talking to her lawyer on the phone, demanding that they still consider it possible to prove to Andrea (the mother of Jamie’s daughter Millie) that she is not parental as she wants full custody.
But what does it have to do with it? That’s what soap writer Charlotte Rodrigues from Entertainment Daily thinks.
Emmerdale: “Kim needs a reality check”
I’m sorry, but Kim needs a serious reality check if she thinks she could take care of her two grandchildren.
Of course we know that the will is only there if something bad should happen to Gabby.
However, Gabby even said herself that Kim would never let her leave the village because she knew she had a Tate baby.
But I can’t be the only one who finds her controlling behavior towards Gabby really weird.
Kim never came across as the maternal type to me and while I understand she obviously loves her grandchildren, it just seems strange that she wants full custody.
I understand Kim and Andrea have never agreed, but figuring out a way to make her seem like an unfit mother so that she can have full custody is just cruel.
I mean, Andrea is a much better mother than Kim.
It’s also worth noting that Kim has been in jail many times, realistically, she wouldn’t get full custody.
“Kim was a terrible mother, she would be an even worse grandmother to raise these poor children”
Kim didn’t even really take care of Jamie.
It is known that around 2012 when Jamie would have been around 15/16, Kim went to jail and left Graham Foster to keep an eye on Jamie.

When he returned to the village in 2019, it became clear that Kim was never actually there. What makes her think she will be able to care for a 7 year old and a baby?
These poor children.
Claire King does a great job
At the end of all of my articles, I like to add what I think goes well with the plots.
I’m looking forward to the birth of Gabby’s son and what’s to come on the home farm.
Also, I want to say that I think Claire King is doing an amazing job playing Kim and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
