Priti Shahani, the acclaimed Bollywood producer behind groundbreaking films such as Talvar, Raazi and Badhaai Ho, has announced a new cross-genre feature film in partnership with award-winning investigative journalist and writer Josy Joseph. Based on an unprecedented investigation into the Indian health system, Phantom Hospital will mark filmmaker Mahesh Narayan’s entry into the Hindi film industry.
The unusual dramatic thriller also marks the market entry of Priti Shahani’s new production house ‘Tusk Tale Films’. Announcing the project, Priti said her new content house believes it is harnessing the power of great stories, especially those that are rooted in reality and do a thorough investigation. The Phantom Hospital is the result of such a creative partnership between Tusk Tale Films and Josy Joseph’s company Confluence Media. An unusual healthcare scandal inspired Phantom Hospital. “We are all unknowingly victims of it, and we hope that through this film we will awaken audiences to a new reality,” said Priti.
