Max Branning actor Jake Wood reveals a new look

EastEnders actor Jake Wood, who played badboy Max Branning, sported a massive beard.

Jake is going to be saying goodbye to the soap this month.

But by the time the countdown starts, Jake, 48, appears to have forgotten his razors.

What happened to Max Branning in EastEnders?

Jake filmed his final scenes on the square but already embraced freedom.

In previous years, Max Branning was always either clean-shaven (including his head) or slightly stubble on the screen.

And recently Max sported a short beard on the show.

But now things are completely different, and Jake is now showing a very impressive following.

Jake visited the social media website Instagram and shared a picture of his bushier beard.

In a knitted hat and with the camera up and the beard in front of the shot, the fans were pampered with what he was up to.

The tall, bushy ginger beard was labeled “#beardwatch” by Jake.

It didn’t take long for fans to flock to the website to respond to the new look.

How did Jake’s co-stars react to his exit?

Meanwhile, Jake’s EastEnders co-star Lacey Turner has paid tribute to her pal as he prepares to leave the soap.

Lacey has played Max Bran’s on-off lover Stacey for 15 years.

On Instagram she wrote: “@MrJakeWood Thank you for some of the best memories of the last 15 years!
