Max Parker has confirmed in an emotional message that he has left Emmerdale after two years.
The actor played Luke Posner on the soap but has decided to try new things – but has hinted that he might return.
Max posted a series of pictures and videos from his time in the soap and said goodbye on Instagram.
He wrote: “Goodbye EMMERDALE! What an incredible two years it was! I also met some very special people along the way! Until we meet again, LUKE POSNER is calling it a day! “
Max’s co-star Isabel Hodgins commented, “What a delight you were !!!! God, I’ll miss you !! “

Actress Victoria Sugden posted her own homage to Max on her page – complete with a video of him working backstage.
“So this week we saw the exit of the only @maxparker,” she wrote.
“Someone I’ll be very sad not to work with anymore. He sewed me every day and enriched my life in Emmerdale.
“Thanks for everything, Maxwell.”
Max’s character Luke first appeared in August 2019 and was later exposed as the brother of Lee Posner, the man who raped Victoria Sugden.
However, last week it was revealed that Max had left Emmerdale.

A source said The sun: “Max would never stay on the soap for years.
“He’s ambitious and a talented guy – he’s already testing for new roles and looking forward to the future.
“But never say never – there’s always a chance he’ll return one day.”

Luke’s departure was very cautious despite his departure history.
Luke was seen just packing up his car and moving to Manchester with a friend after Victoria discovered he was gay.
And possibly partly responsible for the death of his own brother Lee – a crime for which her brother Robert is serving a life sentence.
