Musicals: Sheridan Smith’s Greatest Show will be a star-studded celebration of the stage’s most memorable vocal set pieces, but what musicals has it been in?
The show will be hosted by Sheridan from the London Palladium and will air this evening (Sunday 7 February).
The BBC One extravaganza will also feature greats such as Michael Ball and Nicole Scherzinger.
They’ll play renditions of You Can’t Stop the Beat by Hairspray and The Greatest Showman’s Never Enough.
Hamilton’s You’ll Be Back by actor Gavin Spokes will also be part of the 100-minute show.
How Holby City Ramin Karimloo will sing the music of the night from the Phantom of the Opera.
And the Frozen singer Idina Menzel will also talk to the musical legend Elaine Paige.
The show also features user-generated warblings from viewers who have submitted their own versions of Any Dream Will Do.
But maybe that’s the moment we’re most excited about ED! sees Sheridan’s duet with Amanda Holden from BGT.
They’ll sing together I know him so well from chess after previously recording it for Amanda’s album Songs From My Heart.
Who originally sang that I knew him so well?
Elaine Paige (as Florence) and Barbara Dickson (as Svetlana) originally recorded the duet for Chess in 1984, an album and then a musical.
It was written by Tim Rice and ABBA stars Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

Are Sheridan and Amanda friends?
Very much so! Indeed, it was this song – in terms of feelings between two rivals for the love of a Russian chess master – that brought them together as friends.
Amanda revealed last year: “I made a great friendship through this song in Sheridan Smith.
“I had loved her for years and we always hugged each other when we met, but we didn’t know each other.”
Amanda also shared how she asked Sheridan to sing with her after contacting her through buddy David Walliam.
Amanda continued, “She was heavily pregnant but she couldn’t have been nicer or more enthusiastic when I called her and the end result is better than I imagined.”
I got a great friendship from that song in Sheridan Smith.
Sheridan returned the compliment. She tweeted at the time: “An honor to duet with the beautiful, talented Amanda Holden on her brilliant album.”

What musicals were you in?
Sheridan has years of experience in leading roles in West End productions such as Legally Blonde, Hedda Gabler and Funny Girl.
Amanda was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Theater Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her appearance in Thoroughly Modern Millie. She also starred as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical in 2011.
When will the musicals reopen?
The West End theaters closed in December when London moved from Tier 2 to Tier 3 restrictions. The UK is currently on lockdown, which means theaters cannot open and there is currently no reopening schedule.
Musicals: The Greatest Show will air tonight (February 7th) at 7:40 p.m. on BBC One.
