While her parents are from Mumbai, Nibeditaa Paal grew up in New Zealand. After graduating from school, the model actress moved to Australia to graduate. While she is best known for her time on Spiltsvilla’s season 10, among other things, Paal’s academic background is unknown. “I have a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a dual degree in public relations and marketing. After graduating, I moved back to India to pursue an acting career, ”says Paal, who was crowned Miss India Australia in 2015.
Her debut project is Spiltsvilla. “Back in 2017, this show really helped me understand the industry, gain my audience, gain recognition and also get a presence on social media. In all honesty, I never thought I wanted to get into the reality space, but when I got the offer and they told me it was an MTV project that had a lot of teenage viewers, I thought, why not. Our season was very popular. Then I got the Show Class of 2020, which went well again. Immediately afterwards I had the opportunity to work with Ekta Kapoor in Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein. It’s unfortunate that the show didn’t last long, ”she says of her journey so far.

Was she disappointed when the show went off the air so quickly? “When I was offered Kuch Toh Hai … I was told it was a parallel lead, and I liked my character, the very bubbly, sweet, glamorous Ruhi who loves himself and knew how to make her meaning felt everywhere. Then she slowly fell in love with Rehan. It was a cute, bubbly character at first and as the show progressed she began to develop her interest in Rehan (Harsh Rajput’s character). My character actually grew on the show and there were a lot more interesting things to come, but then things came to an end. I was definitely disappointed, but I’m complaining because it’s been a good learning experience and it’s not all in your hands, ”she says.
The actress is open to shows or web series that provide her essential parts. “I want to play challenging and prominent characters. I’m not picky about screen exposure or whether it’s positive or negative. The role should be interesting and have a lot to offer both me as an actor and the audience. In fact, I would love to play a negative role that would be interesting, as people have only known me as the nice, sweet girl next door, ”adds Paal, the entrepreneur or marketer at a fashion brand, if she wasn’t an actress .
