Joe Goldberg and his stalker baseball cap are back for season three of You – and this time around, they have a wife and baby in tow.
Joe (Penn Badgley) and Love (Victoria Pedretti) try to settle in the suburbs immediately after the end of season two. After leaving their numerous murders behind them, they want to be a “real family” for their son Henry.
Only, two psychotic killers were never meant to be comfortable in a city with white picket fences, and they know it. Best friends with a mom blogger and an alpha male who likes to be “one with the forest”? Gossip sessions at the local cafe? We don’t think so.
Just in case, they even brought their good old see-through cellar box with them. That hardly screams “here to behave”.
It doesn’t take long for things to fall apart at a breakneck pace for both of them. For Love, her jealousy begins to eat her up. For Joe, it’s his insatiable need for another woman.
Both lead to their killer instinct. For better or for worse, it has never been so fitting.

But it turns out they’re not the only ones who have secrets behind closed doors. And soon they will be drawn into a whole mess of situations while things get out of hand.
The series has its weaknesses and can be on the melodramatic side, but despite the subject matter, it’s always fun. Thankfully, that’s still the case with You’s third season.
Badgeley’s annoyingly personable psychopath continues to be easy to spot. But it is problematic, gaslighty, and the continued attempts to justify themselves up to this point are no longer slipping off so well.
But also his distraught wife on the screen, played by Pedretti. She may not have that much method behind her madness, but the painful efforts she goes through to keep her fictitious marriage afloat become completely unpredictable.
Your marriage is a doomed mess and she simply refuses to accept it, which only gets worse over time.
Oddly enough, their demeanor makes them a perfectly matched couple. A couple of serial killers, yeah. But at least a couple.
Is Season 3 Worth the Watch?
For anyone who’s watched the twisted first and second seasons, the third season of You is a great addition to the story.
Raise the stake in ‘How are they going to get out of there?’ Every time you risk it, there is one of those dramas that will keep you on your toes all the time. Even if, according to all that you hear, it treads pretty much common ground.
Penn Badgley has a perfect partner in the scene in Victoria Pedretti, as her likeable personalities are disappearing further and further into the suburbs.
Yes, the story gets melodramatic and slightly unrealistic, but it always has. Joe is not a blueprint for a good man and Love is not a blueprint for a devoted woman.
When the final credits roll in, you will be satisfied.
Your third season is now available on Netflix
