Prabhu Deva plays Pon Manickavel in his 50th film. the role of a ferocious heroic cop

Can a police officer walk the narrow path between serving the public and complying with the system? After Prabhu Deva has delivered a barrage of blockbusters as a director and actor, he’s ready to take his fans on an exciting adventure in an unprecedented avatar in Disney + Hotstar’s fast-paced investigative cop thriller Pon Manickavel. With a gripping narrative, the action-packed entertainer follows the life of an honest police officer who fights for justice against all odds. Prabhu Deva marks his 50th film as an actor and takes center stage as the title character Pon Manickavel based on a major real life Inspector General.

With Nivetha Pethuraj in the lead role, the film is also the last film by the late Mahendran, one of Kollywood’s legendary filmmakers. The fast-paced story, written and directed by AC Mugil and produced by Nemichand Jhabak, is full of action, drama and thrills, making it a complete family entertainer. Music director D. Imman composed the soundtracks for the film, which will be sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Sreekanth Hariharan, Shikha Prabhakaran and Sukumar, among others. The highly anticipated film Pon Manickavel will be released exclusively on Disney + Hotstar on November 19th.
