Prince William “auditioned” Kate Middleton to be his wife and a working queen, one expert has claimed.
In ITV’s The Day Will and Kate Got Married, royal expert Robert Lacey claimed the Duke auditioned Kate for “her future role.”
William and Kate dated for years before they got engaged and married.

Robert said in the document: “It was said that William Catherine auditioned for her future role.

“And I think that’s true.
“William is the future King of Great Britain and the Commonwealth and, like it or not, part of his job was to choose a consort who would do the job well.”
What did Kate’s uncle say in the document?
Meanwhile, Kate’s uncle Gary appeared in the documentary, revealing fears that his niece might join the royal family.
He said Prince Charles “raved” about Kate during a speech at their wedding.
Part of his job was to choose a wife who would do the job well.
Gary said, “I was nervous when I thought Catherine was getting married into the royal family. You don’t know whether it will thrive or survive.
“But from the moment Prince Charles spoke, it was evident that she was received with open arms and love.”
He added, “So I knew she would be safe.”
William Kate’s parents reportedly promised to protect her when she joined the family.
Earlier reports said Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael, were once concerned about how she would deal with royal life when she started dating William.
The royal author Phil Dampier told the story The telegraph 2019: “William gave the Middletons an assurance that he would always protect them.
“And don’t leave some of the things that [Princess] Diana endured that something happened to her. “
William and Kate started out in 2003 after meeting at the University of St. Andrews.
In 2010, the couple got engaged after a private trip to Kenya.

Kate and William then married in April 2011 and became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
