Piers left the show yesterday and ITV announced that he will step down as anchor.

Ranvir was supposed to be reading the news on the show earlier today but took Piers’ place and co-hosted with Susanna Reid.

Susanna and Ranvir opened the show and addressed Piers’ departure.

Susanna said: “He is without a doubt an outspoken, challenging, empathetic and disruptive broadcaster.

What did Piers say about Meghan Markle?

Her comments are in stark contrast to former GMB anchor Piers, who said he didn’t believe Meghan’s claims that she was suicidal.

Today he tweeted that he stood by his comments.

“On Monday I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview.

“I’ve had time to ponder that opinion, and I still don’t. When you’ve done that, OK, ”he said.
