Who was Raoul Moat and what did he do?

Raoul Moat was a Newcastle-born bodybuilder who became a killer when his ex-girlfriend Samantha Stobbart found love again.

While Raoul was serving an 18-week sentence for assault, his six-year-old friend broke up and began dating karate teacher Chris Brown.

Already afraid of Raoul and fear for Chris’ safety, Samantha told Moat that Chris was a cop in hopes of keeping him out.

After his release, the cop hater Raoul planned his revenge, procured a firearm, and planned a murderous rampage.

The former nightclub bouncer then shot his ex-girlfriend Samantha – and mother of his child – and made her fight for her life in July 2010.

He also murdered her new boyfriend, Chris Brown.

The then 37-year-old murderer then fled to avoid being arrested by the police.

The manhunt became one of the most publicized in British history and lasted a week.

Raoul eventually shot himself while surrounded by armed police – but not before shooting PC David Rathband in the face.

While Raoul was on the run, he shot police officer on duty David Rathband in the face.

The attack left the policeman blind and with life-changing injuries.

PC Rathband’s marriage collapsed.

He was struggling to cope with the effects of his irreversible injuries.

Tragically, he committed suicide 18 months later.

The ITV1 documentation contains the emergency call that David made to his colleagues after Moat attacked him.

“I was shot,” you heard him say desperately on his radio in the audio clip.

The audience did not understand at first, until PC Rathband said again: “I was shot.”

The doc also shows pictures of his horrific facial injuries.

David had said of the attack: “I looked him in the eye and saw nothing – no emotions. Then I felt the pain on my face.

“I knew my right eye socket had just exploded and my eye was gone.”

Raoul Moat David Rathband: Where is Samantha Stobbart now?

Raoul Moat’s ex-girlfriend Samantha Stobbart was hospitalized after the brutal attack in July 2010.

The couple had a four-year-old daughter together.

On July 5, 2010, Samantha was declared no longer in Critical Condition after the attack and left the hospital on July 17.

On the same day, she made a direct appeal to Raoul Moat, who was on the run.

She said, “Please give up. If you still loved me and our baby, you wouldn’t. “

After his suicide, she told the News of The World, “I couldn’t do anything about a madman with a gun.

“I had to go back inside to make sure my little daughter Chanel was safe.

“I saw the sparks fly off Raoul’s gun as he shot me.

“Then I was lying on the floor and blood was splattering all over the place.”

She later admitted that she had struggled with suicidal thoughts but was not injured because of her daughter.

Chanel is said to be 14 years old now.

Samantha has tried to hold back since the events and has not spoken publicly since 2013.
