Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have shared their “terrible” miscarriage that took place before they greeted their son Jack.
The former presenters of This Morning sadly lost their first child, a little boy, in 1986.
The heartbreaking ordeal came during a routine scan while Judy was 16 weeks pregnant.
What did Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan say?
The couple opened up to Giovanna Fletcher for her Happy mother Happy baby Podcast.
Judy, 72, said, “I lost the baby when I was four months old. I did a scan and they just showed that the baby’s heart had stopped beating and that was horrible, just really horrible.
It will hit the mother who lost the child much more.
“I had to go to work anyway and it was just horrible.”
She also revealed, “When I got pregnant with Jack, it was a very traumatic pregnancy. You can’t trust the next pregnancy at all. “
Meanwhile, 64-year-old Richard added, “I think, so to speak, the father, the man concerned, I think it is very important to realize that however it may affect you, it affects the mother who does this child has lost much more.
“Because she carried the child and had the experience of a miscarriage or an induced miscarriage, because the baby died in the womb and it must be worse for her.

“I don’t think there is absolute equivalence.”
Three months after the ordeal, Judy became pregnant with their son Jack.
The couple also welcomed daughter Chloe.
Judy is also a mother to twin sons Tom and Dan from a previous relationship.
How did Richard and Judy meet?
During the chat, the two went into detail about how they met in 1982 at Granada TV.
At the time, Judy was married to journalist David Henshaw.
Richard was also dating his first wife, Lynda.
Judy stated on the podcast, “We got married as soon as we could, you got divorced, and so did I, so we had to wait until all of these legal things were out of the way.

“We got married in 1986 and our kind of relationship started in 1983 and got stronger and stronger.”
The TV duo later hosted This Morning from its founding in 1988 to 2001.
