EastEnders has confirmed that Ross Boatman will join the cast as Harvey Monroe.
Ross will be joining the soap this summer. His character Harvey is the father of Dana.
Dana already has a connection with Walford in Bobby Beale, who she has dated for the past few months.
Harvey looked after Dana alone and is a real family man who is proud to have grown up in Bow and even more proud to be a father.

Harvey is traditional, protective, and will do anything to protect his daughter.
For the past few months viewers have seen Bobby embellish the truth on his dates with Dana, and when things get more serious between the new couple, will Bobby find the new Harvey impressive?
EastEnders: What Else Did Ross Boatman Experience?
Ross is RADA trained. He is also known for his role in London’s Burning as Fireman Kevin Medhurst.
He also had roles in Holby City, The Bill, Casualty and Mum.
Most recently he played Vic Morgan in Grantchester.
He has also had roles in films such as Hard Men, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, How I Live Now, and Paddington.
What did Ross say about joining EastEnders?
Commenting on joining the cast, Ross said, “Some actors crave all the glamor of the Hollywood Hills. Others dream of the bright lights of London’s West End.
“All I ever wanted was jelly eels, Albert Square, and a sassy pint at the Queen Vic. Words can hardly express how happy and excited I am to finally be here.
“I absolutely love the show and can’t wait to get started. I feel really blessed. “

EastEnders producer Jon Sen added, “We can’t wait for Ross to join us at Albert Square As Harvey.
“He’s perfect for playing the affable father of Dana, overjoyed that his daughter found a match in Bobby, but secrets are unlikely to stay hidden on the pitch, so Bobby’s attempts to reinvent himself will be in vain could.
“We look forward to Harvey’s arrival, he will certainly stir up the Beale family dynamic.”
