Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor received an MBE in the Queen’s New Years Award.
The actress, who has played Sally Metcalfe in ITV soap since 1986, recently spoke about her award.
As reported in The mirror She said, “I am humble, grateful and very proud to have received this honor.
“I’m still in shock.
“I didn’t think it was real when I found out earlier this month that I was going to get an MBE. It was so difficult to keep it a secret. “
Sally added, “During the 60th anniversary of Coronation Street, I was daily reminded of my time on the show – the young girl in those scenes 35 years ago could only have dreamed of the incredible things that would happen in the years to come. “

The actress also praised her peers on the show and the Prevent Breast Cancer charity for sharing their gratitude for receiving the MBE, saying it was for her too.
Sally also thanked her husband Tim and their three children Phoebe, Sam and Hattie for their support.
Sally’s friends and co-stars rushed to congratulate her.

Coronation Street – Sally Dynevor
Sally first appeared in January 1986 – almost 35 years ago.
During her time on the cobblestones, Sally has come to grips with some tough storylines.
When Sally Seddon first appeared, she met Kevin Webster, with whom she married two daughters.

Sally and Kevin were on and off, however, and separated for good in 2010 after she discovered he was having an affair with Molly Dobbs and was the father of their son Jack.
Sally was also a victim of domestic violence by her ex, Greg Kelly.
The character Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Shortly thereafter, actress Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Last year, Sally climbed Mount Everest Base Camp to prevent breast cancer and raised over 100,000 pounds.
In recent years, Sally has been wrongly jailed for fraud, involved in the collapse of the factory roof, and played a role in Yasmeen’s and Geoff’s story of coercive control.
But earlier this year, the character got a little lucky when she married husband Tim Metcalfe.
