To mark World Cancer Day on Thursday, Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt shared his experience during a virtual press conference titled “Cancer Up-to-Date: Advances In Cancer Treatment In A COVID-19 Reality” organized by The Defeat-NCD Partnership . Healthcare professionals from around the world spoke about advances in cancer treatment, especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Sanjay Dutt was part of the Nargis Dutt Foundation and has done a lot of research. While he was making the closing remarks for the event with his doctor, Dr. Sewanti Limaye, shared, the superstar spoke about his thought process as he went through the difficult period of dealing with the disease.

He shared “When the news got out, there was a lot of anger inside me and I wondered why I was. So I accepted my illness and once thought I would fight cancer no matter what. When I was Dr. Sewanti Limaye met for the first time, it was with this attitude. “

The doctor went on to say that when they first met, Dutt had walked in with his family. She also commented on how he had an aura of peace and calm when they met.

Earlier in the day, Dutt had used social media to thank The Defeat-NCD Partnership at the United Nations Institute for Education and Research for being named Global Champion for Cancer Care.
