Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom was the first film to be fully completed during lockdown in 2020 and then released this August. In a way, it started Bollywood’s campaign in the theaters even though it was affected by the Maharshtra lockdown and 50% occupancy rule. Well, a couple of other notable films that were also made during the lockdown, Sonam Kapoor’s Blind and Kajal Aggarwals Uma, won’t face such a challenge. Reason? Theaters across the country are now allowed to play at 100% occupancy by and large, and Maharashtra will soon follow suit.
Confirms our source: “Yes. Both Blind and Uma are close to completion, and post-production is in full swing. Both films will be ready for release in the next few months. “
Blind was produced by AVMA Media and filmed in Glasgow, UK, while Uma was filmed in Calcutta. Incidentally, both films are thriller and female-centered affairs with Sonam Kapoor and Kajal Aggarwal that appear in an unprecedented avatar.

“In the unprecedented time when most movie shoots have stopped, AVMA has channeled its resources well to complete the main shooting of Blind in February 2021. It took to the stage in Glasgow last year when the pandemic crisis peaked and the whole of Britain “was banned,” our source continues.
Uma, on the other hand, was completed in August of this year, when the tough second wave of the pandemic was still raging across India. There were a few challenges the film had to face, be it nighttime curfews or strict Covid-19 restrictions.
Avishek Ghosh, Managing Partner of AVMA Media, says: “The pandemic phase actually helped us to understand the importance of lean film teams working on a tight and compact shooting schedule. Of course, we had to address the safety concerns while also making sure the film crew was working with medical support systems. “
It wasn’t just the COVID restrictions that challenged the Sonam Kapoor star; There were also flight cancellations, site cancellations and extreme weather conditions in Great Britain with rain, snow and sub-zero temperatures that threatened to be a thorn in the side of the plans.

“Fortunately, we still managed to work with clockwork precision and always had a plan B ready. Neither Blind nor Uma had any breaks in shooting and we finished the main shoots on schedule. We also ensured regular tests so that the crew was safe during the entire filming phase, ”adds Avishek.
While they are waiting for Blind and Uma to hit the big screen soon, AVMA Media is currently building several films that are in different stages of development.
“The next one after these two films would be a thriller and play a well-known leading lady from the Hindi film industry. The film is expected to be shown on the floors from January 2022. Then there is also a slice-of-life anthology film that is due to hit the floors in March / April ’22. The pre-production of both films is currently in full swing, ”confirms our source.
With a web series and a few other exciting thrillers in development, AVMA Media actually has its hands full for 2022. Arrival of Sonam Kapoor and Kajal Aggarwal on the big screen after a break.
