Star claims he lost his job because of Meghan Markle

Piers Morgan has claimed he “lost his job” after refusing to apologize to Meghan Markle – just days after he left the GMB.

The 55-year-old star took to social media today (March 12) detailing the reason for his departure.

It comes after Ofcom’s more than 41,000 viewers complained after criticizing the Duchess’s claims about her sanity.

He told his 1.5 million Instagram followers: “It’s been an extraordinary week for me, for Britain, for our monarchy and for our future.

“Those of you who know me well enough know that despite my many mistakes, I am always ready to stand up for the things that I think are most important.”

Looking back on his career, he added, “My passionate opposition to the Iraq war resulted in my death from the Daily Mirror.

“My outspoken views on the madness of American gun laws led to the end of my tenure on CNN.

“And now I’ve lost my job at Good Morning Britain because in her interview with Oprah Winfrey I didn’t apologize for not believing Meghan Markle’s claims.”

In addition, Piers claimed he was the youngest “victim of the abandon culture”.

He added: “Of course, I don’t consider myself a victim or an actual cancellation.

“However, I believe that defending freedom of speech and the right to express honest opinions is the most important theme of my career and the most important theme in British society.”

In addition, the moderator urged his followers to buy a copy of his book.
