Star shines in a jumpsuit with a slit waist

Amanda Holden fans on Instagram today are pretty divided about her outfit for work.

Heart FM breakfast show DJ Amanda caught attention when she arrived at the Leicester Square offices in bright orange overalls.

It was slit to the waist, only a tie protecting her modesty.

But that wasn’t what some of her Instagram followers picked up on …

What did Amanda Holden wear today?

Amanda explained, “So … this beautiful jumpsuit is made by a small company @ lilyeve.store owned by this talented young lady and her buddy Michel – a couture seamstress who thought his job was done at the age of 87.

“They have some amazing, bespoke items – really cute – tap the label and check them out before they sell out,” she added.

The jumpsuit called Dorset is a 1970s-inspired jumpsuit with a thick elastic waistband, short sleeves and patch pockets.

It is available in small / medium (UK 8-10) and medium / large (UK 10-14) sizes.

It’s pretty pricey, however, at around £ 325 – and you have to add shipping from New York, where it’s made, to the price.

Some people loved it.

“Is there a color that you can’t wear,” said one.

“Looks beautiful – a ray of sunshine,” said another.

What did Amanda’s Instagram followers say about the overalls?

The post was flooded with fire emojis and wowed fans who said she looked “gorgeous”.

But Amanda also made some unflattering comparisons.

“You were tango’d,” laughed one follower.

“You know when you were tango,” wrote another.

As anyone who’s watched television in the 1990s will know, the tango commercial featured a rather plump, half-naked man painted orange.

He ran around looking for people drinking cans of tango and when he found them he slapped them in the face.

It was banned because there were concerns that children would copy the stunt.

And it contained the slogan: “You know when you were tango.”

Aperol – the orange aperitif used to prepare the Spritz cocktail – also got involved in the Amanda campaign.

The official account that was published upon upload: “This color”, along with the orange heart and the orange emoji.
