The shooting of each film is a unique experience for all actors. But some experiences stand out and are worth remembering. This is exactly what Nushrratt wanted to shoot for Netflix’s upcoming anthology film Ajeeb Daastaans. The actor really enjoyed the process and camaraderie on set which made him one of her most valuable experiences. She played a completely different character and avatar that Nushrratt has not previously been associated with. She explored a new side for herself and confessed that she had a ball with her. Her experience of working with child cracker Inayat Verma and director Raj Mehta for the first time added to the fun.
Nushrratt plays alongside Abhishek Banerjee and Inayat Verma a maid for Meenal in Raj Mehta’s Khilauna. The story shows her struggle for a decent life for herself and her sister. The film is about the games people play and how they are played in the process. It highlights people’s intense survival and manipulation instincts, as well as the impact the environment has on impressionable young minds.

Talking about her experience on the set of Ajeeb Daastaans, Nushrrat said: “We only made the film for eight days, but to be honest, I didn’t have that much fun making any other film that I was working on. Raj is a genius, but also funny, funny and too cool. He’s really a really passionate filmmaker, and he really enjoys making a movie and being on the set. While making a movie there is always the great shots you get or want to get, but it’s also about enjoying the process – and this is where that experience strikes me. Inayat, my partner in crime, also added to the fun. I loved every bit of their company and we had great camaraderie in real life as well. We are still in contact today and often catch up. I really hope to be able to work with Raj and of course Inayat again in the near future. This is also very different from my previous roles, so the stereotypes that were added to the experience have broken out. “
